Leadership Training Program 2009/2010
Region J is now in the process of bringing the LTD Programs to our members, these programs are designed to give our members knowledge they can use in their everyday lives as well as give them a better understanding of the way GWRRA operates. They are an invaluable tool for any member who wishes to become more involved with our organization and can help any member wishing to step into an Officer position. The BC District has already got 6 members who have stepped up to become LTD Instructors and Leslie Wait has taken on the BC District Trainer position. The Regional Directors took on a commitment in Tulsa to have our CDs & DDs take the initial training this year, with our vast area this will take some doing, we hope to present the program in conjunction with the District meetings and I hope that you will support us in our efforts to make these programs available to everyone. Our biggest problem will be to get these programs available to our Alaska & Yukon members, but we will work this out.
GWRRA has a core of volunteer Officers who spend much of their time to ensure that our members get the most out of their membership; the Ltd Program will provide the knowledge and the tools to make this possible. We are approaching the non riding season now is a good time to plan your Chapters Leadership Training Program, there is no charge to the members for any LTD training all that we ask is that you assist with the Instructors expenses for fuel and provide accommodation.
If you know of any member who has training experience, in adult education, industrial training, seminar presentation etc who you feel would be a good instructor please have them contact me at pjc2@telus.net We hope that this program will be as successful as our Rider Ed Program is and will be another membership plus for our members.
